Drive pedals...i am never satisfied.
10 years of trying lots and am fed up of the time, money and effort this takes up.
Buying the Rivival would be an all in drive solution.
Well, hope so..free up board space, power supply needs and stop the search.
Anyone else considering one?
Ps... two electrics and one amp ... happy there, so i can be decisive!!! Sometimes!

No. After 10 years the chances of it being the one are pretty slim.

I can see the argument. If only it wasn’t quite that expensive.

Maybe drive pedals just aren’t for you?

If you have a sound in your head that no other pedal quite matches then I suspect it has enough options to tweak until you get there.  Plus it has some handy switching that would make it practical.
But I was hoping for something simpler and more plug and play like the sliderig so I’m hoping they follow it up with a cut down version that would suit me more - I don’t have the patience to experiment with all the combinations of settings.

The Revival does look and sound great in the demo's.  But that's a hell of a lot of switches and knobs Jon.  What drive sounds do you like?
    No Darling....I've had that ages.

They are all great pedals. There is enough scope within to really nail most low to upper mid drive sounds there. I have been guilty of buying for buying a sale in the past, there is nothing wrong in my mind as long as you acknowledge that that is the case, curiousity can be fun and expensive when it comes to pedals lol .

You just listed 3 (amazing) pedals that are former flavour of the month drives.

This is the latest one (not including the odyssey!)

No doubt they are all wicked but i see a pattern of behaviour here

You'll probably have more fun with
    What you have.

#edit# if I had the coins i'd also be all over one of these too lol

Try pushing the front end with an eq with vol boost, so you get to push an already crunchy amp and eq to taste. Not sure I'll ever need a drive pedal again after trying this, every little eq tweak gives you a different sound. Cheap to try, could be what you're looking for if you've already tried lots of drives.

If you can afford it, I’d say go for it

it looks to be the most inspiring overdrive yet.

  • This was my board for a short tour last week. Unbelievably quite honestly. Did away with 4 drives and didn't miss them once.
