Donner Bluetooth foot pedal problem

I have got myself a Donner Bluetooth page turner. I tried it when I first got out and it was fine. I hadn't used it for a few weeks and have also got a new Android tablet.
I've just switched it on, it lights up but when I try to connect to it it doesn't come up on my bbs Bluetooth list on my tablet, a few phones etc.
Am I doing something stupidly wrong or is it just a dodgy pedal?
