Speaker boxes

Apologies if this is in the incorrect place but I am on the look out for a couple of speaker boxes to ship 12 inch speakers in

Any ideas where I could get these from? Or ideas on shipping speakers safely. Any help would be much appreciated.

There were always dozens of speaker cartons about at Blackstars, if you wanted to make the trip I am sure they would let you have a couple.

If you’re shipping two to the same place, mount them face to face and secure with bolts, cable ties or wire tiewraps through the bolt holes, then wrap the whole thing in as much bubblewrap as possible and put them in one large box, which are generally easier to find than a flatter 12” square box.

I buy mine on ebay. Get the 14"x14"x14" double ply boxes from 'packaging monkey'. You can get two speakers in each box. If you also buy the 24"x24"x24" boxes you can slice them into 12" strips to wrap around each speaker. Here is a guide I wrote a while ago on the Marshall forum:

The key is not to have any packing materials pressing up against the cone whatsoever. It is way too fragile. Always protect the cone fully with strong cardboard - then add the bubblewrap.

I do not recommend using the zip tie method. They can very easily break loose, and start banging against each other. I have received a few badly packed speakers like that.
