I like his playing, but I'm not struck on his choice of singers.

Very looking forward to this - however, I have to admit World on Fire was a bit crap IMO. I thought Apocalyptic Love was much much better, especially the production with no over-dubbed solos.

I have to say I sort of agree...  At first I wasn't sure but have kind of got used to it now... Its like something im willing to accept so I get to hear Slash's riffs and solos.. Which I do like a lot.

I also like Slashs Snake Pit...  Especially Aint Life Grand.. I still listen to that.

I love Slash, but Myles Kennedy's vocals aren't to my tastes.

His Slash's Snake Pit stuff is great, some of his best writing is on those albums IMO.

Cool, will check it out when it drops.

Personally I love Myles' vocals, but I prefer them when there are less harmonies and dubs like on the earlier Alter Bridge stuff.  I think he sounds awesome on this track for example.

So a new GnR album looking unlikely any time soon then. I like his solo stuff myself, if nothing else it gives me some new riffs to learn but I do think Apocalyptic Love was a bloody good record in its own right. World on Fire has some excellent moments too.

i really enjoyed his self-titled 2010 release, the track with Fergie (Beautiful Dangerous) and Back from Cali were super.

    YES.
I hope it is better than World on Fire... though I did really like some of the songs on it (World on Fire, Stone Blind, Dirty Girl, Wicked Stone...) but overall Apocalyptic Love was a way way better album.
I'm keen. I'll be in line to buy it. For sure.

Looks like it’s a US only tour, which is disappointing.

Saw the last tour on a whim having never listened to the 2 albums, but heard a lot of complaining about Myles. At the time I thought GnR would never tour so was keen to see Slash. Was mega impressed by the whole band and thought Kennedy was outstanding. Bought both albums and there are good tracks on both, though both are a bit patchy. Much prefer Kennedy's live vocal.

Wonder if a Euro tour is still being worked on.

Got it on very, very good authority that there will be a European tour for the album.

Myles is great and much better on-key turn Axl now but nasal and without the grit, too pure almost. Great band. Every new slash release is like Christmas for me and I always buy the CD.

As an old-school GnR / Slash fan (and Alter Bridge fan!) I really need to pull my finger out and go to a gig when/if they are in the UK. Have never seen Slash in the flesh, criminal!

I love both albums. I actually prefer World on Fire, I would say.

PS If people haven't seen Myles sing live he is astonishingly good.

I really hope that they release a single soon, I'm dying to hear it.
I'm also really hopeful that they tour Australia.

Been trying to find my Aint Life Grand Cd but it’s obviously left home without letting me know. If anybody wants to sell theirs I’d be interested!

Slash seems to have a pattern that his first album in a new project is great, then it just goes lack lustre (I know other people like some of the other albums I find bland) his first snake pit album was fantastic, it's 5 o'clock, the band was great, the songs where great, the recording was great, the following snakepit album was weak in comparison. Then we had 'slash by slash' which was an interesting concept with different singers and band members. Then came Miles Kennedy, which was with Apocalyptic Love, which was quite good, then it became the churn factory of Miles/Slash, which now feels like the Bonamassa of Rock, just churning them out (I appreciate nowhere near the scale of JoBo) The stuff is not bad, far from it, but it's just not "wow" like you expect from someone like Slash.

I've said this in other threads, Slash seems to respond to the people he writes with more than other people and I just don't think Miles and the current band are the guys who enable Slash's contributions to song writing.

I love Slash, obviously what he did in GNR, and thought the Snakepit albums were great.  However, these songs, although perfectly listenable, just don't it for me...it's like rock music by numbers. Also, IMO Kennedy's best work was the first two Alter Bridge albums; I've not been wowed by anything he's done since.
