Thanks for those pics - Almost identical to the cab I’ll eventually finish but I might let the grain show and it handy to see with and without shots.
I vote yes keep the scratchplate.

I vote with, although I'd like to know how parchment looks as Shoreline says '60s and three-ply black says '70s to me.

(I admit that with a guitar conceived in the 00's this is ridiculous.)

    Cool guitar either way.

Yes to scratchplate no to black.  Can you get silver, if not pearlescant white?

Looks good with the scratchplate - maybe a slightly more worn scratchplate to match the relicing on the body though.

Yes to scratchplate, but a white or cream colour would look better, IMO

    No.

Either no guard, or a full-size white Esquire one.

The official Fender part is a thick single ply white.

Something garish and tacky would add to the Gretsch vibe.

In my opinion, the fastening screw positions on those aftermarket budget 'guards look seriously naff - especially the one nearest the neck heel.

    No.

But if you do, I’d go black to match fret markers. I’d also have black nut too.

I’ve never liked plates on La Cabs - I like the fact they look refreshingly different... so...no!
