Xotic Effects are more than established in the pedal world, with their acclaimed EP Boost and SL Drive pedals seen on pedalboards across the world! Their AC and RC booster pedals however have been around since 2002, offering amazing overdrive/boost tones with both still popular today. That’s why Xotic have now introduced the AC/RC Oz Noy Signature pedal, a dual overdrive/boost that features both these modern classics in one enclosure!

Tailored for renowned guitar virtuoso Oz Noy, who’s had AC and RC booster pedals on his board for years, you can now get both circuits in this 2-in-1 pedal. In his words - “Finally, they are in the same box now – where they belong!” – Oz Noy

2-in-1 Format:

Having both the AC and RC pedals in one unit makes this the perfect pedal to place on a smaller board, where real estate is precious! Another advantage of this is that you can use just one power output from your power supply, and the AC/RCOZ can be powered at either 9V or 18V. Running it at 18V will provide more headroom, giving you a bigger and more-open sound.

If you’re a lover of overdrive sounds, especially stacked into one another, you’ll love the AC/RCOZ. The AC side on its own delivers a smooth overdrive that will give your amp a bit more grunt and hair. Pumping the gain will get gritty, giving you classic distorted rhythm tones that will make chords and riffs sound huge!

The RC side offers more of a clean/pushed boost, with plenty of punch and cut. Lifting the volume of your amp on its own, the RC side really comes into its own when engaged along with the AC side. Driving the front of the AC circuit, the RC will add more saturation and colour to your tone, enriching harmonics and overall presence. This makes it the ultimate combination for thick lead sounds, which will carve through any mix thanks to the EQ controls.

Powerful EQ Controls:

With dedicated Treble and Bass controls for each side, you can perfectly sculpt your ultimate overdrive sounds. The bass controls will let you boost or cut the low-end/mid frequencies, so that you can either add more roundness to your tone or take out some mud for a more articulate sound highlighting your picking response. The treble controls will affect the upper frequencies, letting you add in more high-end. The treble controls will be your best friend if you’re playing in a busy mix with lots of other instruments to contend with, or if you’re plugged into a dark-sounding amplifier.

Here's what Xotic say about the AC/RC Oz Noy Limited Edition Boost/Overdrive Pedal:

The AC/RC-OZ Oz Noy limited edition pedal from Xotic Effects encapsulates two classic Xotic Effects pedals in one box- the AC Booster and RC Booster. Custom tailored to Oz’s preferences, the AC/RC-OZ provides silky smooth amp-like tone with plenty of boost that delivers a magically huge sound!

Engaging the AC Booster channel produces classic AC Booster tones with improved circuitry for gain that ranges from minimal overdrive to gritty distortion. Kicking on the RC channel drives the front of the AC channel (exactly how Oz sets it up on his pedalboard) for added harmonics, gain and presence. Each channel features a 2 band EQ with LED activation to indicate that the channel is engaged. “The magic really happens when you play the RC into the AC because that's when you get a really big sound!” Oz Noy.

Internationally acclaimed guitarist Oz Noy has been using the AC and RC Boosters since they were first introduced to the market in 2002. They have been a mainstay on his pedalboard and part of his signature sound for many years.

AC/RC-OZ:

  • Stackable gain channels
  • Can be run at 9v or 18v (for more headroom)
  • 2 band EQ per channel with LED activated knobs
  • Limited edition run of 1500
