what telecaster can i get that is like the classic vibe but with 22 frets?

What's Hot
am going to be trading my ibanez s420 wb after having a nightmare changing strings (can never do it right).i need to go back to a simpler guitar, hence the question above.

i do like the cv teles,BUT i would like to have an extra fret ;-)

it must have vintage tuners also (as i really like changing the strings with them (also the ends are kept safe inside too/looks neater).

oh and not be too expensive (as i will have to save up the rest myself ;-)

am thinking the cabronita also as another choice, but wondering what "proper" tele i could add to the list also?

ta :-)

p.s i would sell online but have no idea how to do so (no credit card e.t.c).also i have no camera so couldn't take pictures of my guitar to show people.

I'd agree. Let's you buy as you have the cash and shop around for used 'bits'.

Can always bung someone a few quid to assemble it for ya. There's a bloke newly registered on here will do it for you, but he's bloody murder on the nuts and pickups apparently.

was just looking at warmoth after your suggestions (not that you suggested warmoth btw) the build your own suggestion.

by the gods i'd love to order the parts from them, but the cost
    :((

always liked warmoth stuff that i have seen.

it's a choice between the steinberger gt pro spirit
brian may red special (cheap one)
    or a telecaster.

the motorcycle is put on the back burner now ;-)

Warmoth is Rolls Royce stuff really, it can be done far more cheaply.
There's a store on ebay that does B-stock stuff cheaply, can someone remind me what they're called?
There are plenty of reasonable 2nd hand bits and bobs on ebay too.
Or just get a classic vibe and change the neck? If your new neck has an overhanging 22nd fret, I don't THINK you'd have a problem?

Grahame who's GSPBasses on this forum for yer body, or GuitarBuildUK, and an Allparts neck. I've just picked up a Tele/Cab body from our classifieds for £30.

The Interweb is your friend matey! ;)

Generally it would have an overhang so yer right no probs there. Neck pocket might need a 'fiddle' tho.

Check out northwest guitars. They have everything you need to put a guitar together and you can spec your own neck for not a lot of money.

Try an ESP LTD TE 212 - They have 22 frets and are cheap.

These are great, but the neck is a slim, flat one. So if you want something fatter, I'd not go for it.

The Ltd range are generally quite well made :)

I dunno. For one extra fret?

I can understand holding out for a 24 fret neck, but each to his own. Good luck with the search.

FWIW I have Classic Vibe and I love it to bits. They're so good they can be forgiven for being a bit shorter in the fret department.

  • i had a cv tele also ;-)

was a great guitar,i just p/x'ed it towards a vintage lemon drop.

if i'm honest would be more than happy with another cv tele (and sod the extra fret ;-p

still deciding between the cv and the new cabronita tele tbh.

I'd agree, 21's enough for me, but if the dude wants 22. Sometimes it's the little details that niggle. I'm like that with chrome and nickel parts, it MUST be nickel. Queer old world!

Vintage V52 Icon - has 3 saddle bridge and 22 frets. And I think the tuners MAY be the type you're after (there's also a non-distressed finish model - I can't find a decent piccie of the tuners but I suspect they're different)...

If you go for a part caster I have some coming up in my clear out, the photo below is a standard type Tele body the neck has 22 frets. Cost £160 inc P&P

There will be two more posted  later today but they will cost more.
