A posi-thread about recent Chapman guitars model...

I think they deserve credit for this model....I would actually LOVE to try one, but it is a USA/GC exclusive.

Massive shame as it seems to be the most traditional guitar they have released, minus the headstock.

In my opinion, playing safe whilst attempting to establish themselves in the American market is a sensible business move.

The guitar in the photograph has something of a Warmoth/Carvin look about it. I can imagine American buyers going for that.

My other opinion concerns the correlation between Chappers' extending beard and receding hairline. How long before he adopts the baldness denial shaven head look - possibly with tribal tattoos? :)

That does look lovely, to be fair if the necks were fatter I would probably play Chapman guitars

That's the best-looking Chapman (guitar) I've seen yet...

I would like more contrast, I think a darker board would look better

Yes most traditional look they have done. Still struggle with reverse headstock due to fat ageing fingers and the limited space and adjustment angle but looks a nice guitar are they actually in guitar centre yet

I have always liked these, I'd probably have bought one if I still bought guitars

    Still struggle with reverse headstock
I know somebody with that problem. He was (and still is) a massive Pablo wannabe. I helped him source the Ibanez PGM301 that he had "always wanted." Within a fortnight, he wanted rid of the guitar because he could not cope with its reversed headstock. The notion of finding the right machinehead by running his finger along the buttons had not occurred to him. D'oh!

Might as well get one of these, if you're supposed to buy new pickups anyway.

I believe the SE line are made in the same factory as the chapmans

Rosewood board and a non matching headstock would be nice.

IMO, the extended beard is to distract the eye away from the beer belly. Just as balding television weather presenters wear loud ties or cardigans to draw attention away from their scalps.

The Chapman "Pros" and SE Customs are made at World guitars in Korea.

I believe the Chapman "Standards" and the SE Standards are made in Cort's factory in Indonesia.

Both produce stunning quality guitars, seriously, play a few, really surprising.

Nice looking guitar - is that really Chappers though, or is this the new Vic Reeves signature model?

The other guitarist in my band has one of them (and the RC Sig one) both are really great guitars.
I genuinely like Chapman guitars, they are really good.

I'd definitely play that guitar - but my only thing I don't love about Chapmans (Chapmen?) is that symbol on the 12th fret. But that concern may dissipate in person.
