Thanks to this place I've had more guitars in the past three years than the previous 30 combined.  I've tried pretty much everything and have now started buying back guitars that I shouldn't have let go. It means I now have

    a 1970 JM
    a 1972 Thinline Tele
    a 1983 Tokai Strat
a 1998 Schecter Custom shop super Strat
    a new Epi Casino Coupe

I'd still like another 81 Tokai Es100J, a few have come close but not quite close enough. I can't afford to get my 62 Strat back although I've had a few Springfields that were 90 pct of the way there - the Tokai is covering that base at the moment.

I love Gretsches and Les Pauls but after having about 6 of each I have decided I can't play the buggers so they are off the wish list.

Amp wise I've done Carrs, Marshalls, Vox, Fenders, a helix , an AX8 and a load more besides. I'm pretty settled on a Yamaha THR100HD now although I'd love another Carr Mercury one day.

These are all pretty much home use as when I use guitars for work I use a Martin accoustic, occasionally I'll bring along the Tokai and a little THR5

    Wow!

    There's some awesome gear here.

    Live

    Jackson Britain 4
    Pedalboard

    Home & Practice

    Vox AC4
Universal Audio Arrow - Plexi Classic & Fender Tweed Deluxe (usually with headphones) Logic, Scuffham Amps

    Guitars

    Suhr Classic Pro
    Gibson Custom Shop R6
    Gold Partscaster
Sunburst Squire (bought around 86 and morphed into a partscaster over the years)
    Martin Acoustic
    Ibanez Bass

I got the Suhr about three weeks ago and it has become my main guitar I'm so impressed with it (Bar one, it beats all the Fenders I have owned including CS Strats) that and after reading reports on this forum about the  Alt T Pro I'm seriously considering moving my beloved R6 on to get one of those as well.  I'm also keen to try out a new Badger 35.

Pedalboard changes practically weekly this week it's mainly:

    Polytune
    Clyde Wah
    Hot Cake
    Evolution
    M-1
    RYRA Klon
    POG
Dimension C (been there since it first came out around 1985)
    Mini Vent
    Flint
    Chrono Delay
    Echoplex

I really like the Buffalo Effects and have a TD-X incoming

    Home:

    G&L Asat Special (Korean)
    Pedalboard
    Yamaha THR10

    Live:
(although it has been over a decade since I played live other than rare jam things):

As above but replace THR10 with:

    1967 50 watt plexi head
    1 x 12 open back cab

tbh neither rig is really ideal for me, and having a minor tone crisis at the moment, so it may alp change.

With a smallish child what I really need is inspiring headphone level tones to which I can add a clean amp or power amp/speaker for public things.

in terms of playing, swings and roundabouts. Better electric player than 10-15 years, worse classical or gypsy style player. And jazz and soul playing, needs a lot of work.

Matt, I could whole heartedly recommend the UAD Ox.

    Sounds incredible through headphones...

how do you find the Nucleus? worst studio investment I've ever made imo
Mine is a Nucleus 2 Dark, so a pretty mature product, although I don't use the soundcard in it except for talkback over Dante.
I'm ex-SSL staff so know of the issues around the Nucleus 1 though.

My gear has been settled for a long time. Boring I know, but I've never been a great purchaser, preferring instead to work with what I've got. Nowadays I only spend on consumables ... and on guitar making supplies.

    Currently in use:
Several Partscasters and a modified McCarty.
    AxeFX, MFC101 and Matrix Q12.
    Mackie PA.

    Left over from previous bands:
Parker Fly, Yamaha SA2100, Washburn law suit Les Paul, and a couple of acoustics and basses.
    GR-33 Guitar synth.

In case I ever need an analogue rig: Carvin BelAir, with Cry Baby, TS-9 and TU-2

Tree recycler, and guitarist with  https://www.undercoversband.com/.

  • Where I'm at is I play my guitars with Evertune bridges and I don't really play my guitars that don't have Evertune bridges.
