Scratchplate material ideas?

Looking to maybe make a new scratchplate for my Ibanez rg350mz with a single bridge humbucker. Have another thread asking where to source such a thing, but considering making one. Any wacky ideas? I've seen vinyl records used which looks cool, but what else have you come across as an alternative material. Must go with orange ha

  • Clear / perspex and leave a gap on one side, so you can slide a different picture in every couple of weeks :)

I think Yamaha made a big deal if a clear scratchplate 20-30 years ago.

I've usually used acrylic. Lots of interesting colours and finishes, not expensive, easy enough to cut.

You can get some good metallic or glitter acrylics too, but it is a brittle material that can be frustrating to drill.

i like clear acrylic painted on the back in your colour of choice.  Silver and gold work well for a gretchy look
