Quite tempted to order up a set for my Gibson. Anybody got them, or had any experience of them.

  • I love the Lollar neck P90 but find the bridge one too tame, really. It's a bit bland

  • I had them in a Collings 290 - essentially a posh Les Paul Special

I had a pair in my Gordon Smith. They completely knocked the socks off the pair that came with it, which buzzed like a hornets' nest, but were a little, how shall I say it....? Polite.

The BK blue note are excellent too. I daresay the better uk makers (eg mojo) would be a better bet with the £/§ in the shitter.

  • Mojo pickups make the best P90

Oil City and Curtis Novak also make a good P90 too.

Even Seymour Duncan are worth a look.

    And BKP.

    you are spoilt for choice.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

  • I’d go Mojo.

  • I,ve got lollar P90s in three guitars two of which are soapbars and one has a dog ear. Lollar offer their P90s as standard and over or underwound. The overwound are quite hot and aggressive while the underwound seem more refined.

They're just very rich, very lively sounding pickups with loads of harmonic content. The neck is lush and clear with loads of depth (as is the Lollar, to be fair, albeit the Klein is a little more open) whilst the bridge can snarl and has all the punch and growl you expect from a good P90. They clean up beautifully too.

Admittedly mine are in one of the most resonant and lively electric guitars I've ever played, but they capture and enhance that sound perfectly.

  • Coda sell Kleins I believe. Not sure what they stock but they could no doubt order in for you.
