Body arrived today and first job was to make sure the neck fits, no point going any further if it doesn't...as luck would have it does, tight as a tight thing from tight town, which is nice, even better the screw holes lined up too!......
Next fitted the bridge plate with a couple o screws and applied masking tape to the area behind it so I could mark the centre line to aid in positioning the Towner Down and the Bigsby, a length o string confirms alignment, it looks like the neck will need a shim as the Butchers String Strings appear too high, luckily I have one of the Bigsby alloy neck wedges somewhere.....if its too big I have some veneer....

I was contemplating putting the Lap Steel pickup at the neck, but the raised section on the front face of the body is too narrow, so the Mojo P90 gets the gig....

If the weather plays ball tomorrow it will get paint then hang to cure for a week while we go self catering in Ludlow for a week......travelling up on Monday......

First coat of Orange paint is on! 
Very difficult to photograph as its hanging from the curtain rail in the spare room, so is massively backlit......it looks, erm, very orange!

A gentle rub over with 1K Wet n Dry to de nib and the second coat is on I'm at work Friday and Saturday so it can hang until Sunday, then get another de nib and hopefully its final coat, then it can hang for week while we are away on hols.....

In other news, the headstock got a decal from Rosco and Frost, but it looked proper pants so came off again to be replaced with one made by an artisan on a Mac (me!) printed onto white waterslide transfer paper, given a couple of light coats of Halfrauds lacqueer allowed to dry, applied to the headstock and sealed with a couple more coats of the clear stuff, then left in the late Summer sun to gas off.....
Not too shabby......will get a T Cut next week.....
