Trying to find an impossible shirt

Been searching high and low for the impossible - a plain black long-sleeved shirt made of cotton

I've seen some which are more 'dress' shirts, cheap nasty things made of teflon and tend to be see-through. Some are hideously expensive and I'm loathe to pay more than £15. I only need them for work, I'm mostly office based but sometimes I'll need to hump bags of muck into the back of a disgusting van.

Nearly found some today in a Ben Sherman shop at the outlet village thing - medium was way too tight and the large swamped me! Plus I think they were designed for people whose arms emerge from their waist... Very odd size.

Try finding one! they're like hens teeth! Once I find one that's good enough i'm stockpiling the buggers!

I get my plain black long sleeve shirts from Tesco. comfy enough, have a variety of different fits (tailored, slim etc), and cheap as chips.

The reasons why I'm not going for expensive are:

1. I'm a tight git
2. They will get trashed, it's the nature of the job. Just the task of sitting in a van will ensure I get covered in mud, concrete dust and any rubbish left lying around.

@foster you didnt try too hard did you? The first google search i did found black shirts at Next, River Island and Debenhams. They might not suit you, but its your starter for ten.

I think wanting 100% cotton, but not wanting to spend more than £15 is the issue. Goods have become too cheap, and as prices race to the bottom, so does quality.

Well as near as dammit provided it's not wafer thin. My current one is from Primark that i bought years ago. So far i've been into Next, H&M, Primark, Debenhams, The other ones in town, Asda, Sainsury's, Tesco, Ones at the shopping outlet. I'm rather tired of wasting my weekends bobbing into town to look!

Those guys were impeccably tailored but we still won the war with a chubby PM in a boiler suit.
