What’s your go-to song?

What's Hot
I just picked up my acoustic and, almost without thinking, started playing “Tell Me Why” by Neil Young. It’s a lovely song to play, and always seems to set my mind nicely for some acoustic noodling.

Does anyone else have a go-to song?

  • @Kitsune and @brooom - you guys should duet!

You need to agree on a spelling though, we don’t want artistic differences ruining it at this early stage.

On acoustic mine always seems to "Though I hear you calling I will not answer" by White Stripes though it's bizarrely one of the few songs of theirs in but all too keen on...

Though I suspect it's because it's a good one too check I'm in relative tuning as the riff covers a few strings and barres
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

I think that’s another reason I reach for “Tell Me Why”. It’s got a lot of open chords and picking across all strings, making it obvious if I’m out of tune.

That's the only way I've ever seen it spelled on the original 3/4 AD record...

Varies, but when I get that "mind gone blank" moment it will be one of:

59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy) - only for a few loops through, though
    Wish You Were Here
Learning How To Die (Jon Foreman)
Norwegian Wood (bit of a hack version)
    Is There Anybody Out There?

If there's a capo knocking about then:

    Androgynous
Hang The World (Give me a river) - Martyn Joseph (my version is a pale imitation)
    Couple of Kacy Musgraves songs

Christine Collister's version of  'Human Nature' (M.Jackson) or the original version.

If with my duo partner in crime, Mrs.KK, 'Chuck E's in love'

If in Drop D, Extreme's 'Holehearted' or Satriani's 'The Feeling', which was originally done on a banjo
