NAD - Well, sort of...

I haven’t been around here at all recently. 14+ hours a day surrounded by guitar bodies fairly kills off your need to interact outside your own business bubble. But never the less it didn’t stop me getting my amp tweaked to match my new cab from Paul. To say that I’m delighted is putting it mildly.

Even if it sounded rubbish (haha, yeah good one) it’s still a thing of beauty. The fact that it’s got to be one of the most versatile amps out there just sweetens the deal further.

I made the decision to sell my JMP head and cab months ago. It didn’t take too long although it was long enough for me. I vowed to not buy anything other than a Lonestar. Initially, I had been willing to buy a combo and be done but a fellow forumite stood forward and offered me an immaculate Classic head bang on budget. Thankfully, with both the Marshall head and cab sold I was in the fortuitous position of getting a cab started too.

Now, a 2 x 12 would have been nice but I was watching my pennies to a degree and the Fatbaby looked like the perfect size for the head. Deal done!

I had originally been going for navy tolex with the tan leather parts but once I saw the sea foam it was pretty straight forward.

So, I’m a happy camper now. The V30 loaded Fatbaby sounds incredible and thanks to the amp being located in the workshop it’s been getting broken in quite nicely.

Next up? My pedal board!
