we recently moved office at work and are now in the original 1960s ( I think) part of the building. Above each of the toilets is a spout coming out of the wall. What I presumed is that at some point these were showers that were removed and the toilets put in. Although why they would leave a bit sticking out I don’t know.
Having posted these pics on imgur to then share on here someone has suggested an air conditioning evaporater valve.
Anyone know?
Just help calm my fear about being dowsed whilst having a bowel movement.

That's the outlet from the ladies' toilet on the floor above. The builders assumed that the covers would never be down on the gents' toilets so they could just 'vent' as it were.
You're fine, just remember if you hear a flushing noise - even if it sounds like the cubicle next door - get out of the way.
Great, I can look forward to being wetted one day then...

My law states “Any man-made object whose purpose is unknown is far less likely to be hi-tech or clever and far more likely to be a bodge of a basic function.”
Ergo, it’s a cistern overflow. There is evidence to support this too. Old 60’s part of the building... cheap panelling to hide the old high cistern and pipework. 60’s corporate toilet... not likely to have a lid on it. Therefore I reckon the builders encountered that, with the 60’s overflow that dangled over the bowl from above and went ‘what’s the cheapest way to tidy this up?’, ‘I know, we’ll cover everything in cheap panelling and extend the overflow through it’. They didn’t care about the presence of a toilet lid. Judging from the panelling and the cheap-shit fittings, they didn’t care about much at all. Get a load of that silicone around the base of the bowl!
Also chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them.
Anyway, don't be one of THOSE guys that does his business at work
