To cut a long story short, the first guitar my  parents got me as a 12 year old trying to fit in with the "cool" kids at school was a black strat copy with a maple fretboard..."Eric Clapton plays that one" the shop owner said.

Sold. I want that one Dad. Pleeeassseeeeee!!

I let the guitar go to a cash converters in Salisbury a couple of years later. Whilst it wasn't the best guitar, I regretted letting it go and have always wanted to replace it more for sentimental value than anything else.

Now I am in need of an office guitar for testing circuits and pickup configurations... to take to guitar shows etc... (who am I kidding??). I have GAS'd for my dream Strat for some time.

Most on here are well aware of SC Relics and Scott's work @lonestar ;;

I was never too keen on relic guitars but being a regular viewer of SC Relics' guitar porn on various platforms, I was converted and after ordering a few months ago, the package arrived last night.

The cat was curious...what on earth have you brought in this time? (That’s a role reversal)

I didn't take photos of the packaging but lets just say it was solid. I always shudder at the the thought of a guitar being sent in the post from overseas. Well packaged and the girlfriend made me hoover up the polystyrene off the carpet afterwards.

So I asked Scott for a black nitro body and maple, lightly aged neck.

    nice checking on the back...

the neck has an amber tint - the fret work is stunning. I didn't ask Scott to do the fretboard wear, as I hope to play it enough for the wear to occur naturally. We shall see!

The headstock is logoless - and will remain so.

My aim was to get it all assembled and ready to take to the Kempton Guitar Show at the end of the month - but I've realised I need to source a few parts to finish the build.

    I need:

    - a bridge (bridge I took from another partcaster doesn't fit)
    - trem claw/springs
    - a nut
    - decision on pickups

So bear with me - I have ordered a few bits and will rummage around in the parts bin to see what I can come up with.

Electronics I can sort from stock.

I will also be video documenting the assembly for YouTube (I have been pretty half arsed with YouTube but now that I have reached 1,000 subscribers and applied for monetization I have to upload more regularly).
