Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets

They are doing a short U.K. tour next year, just nabbed a couple of tickets for Birmingham town hall ( when I say nabbed I realise this may take months to sell out even if it does).
Might be a bit specialist but I love a bit of Los Straitjackets and Nick is a jolly old soul.

Just back. Feeling a bit knackered but otherwise a good evening. Venue was probably only 60% sold. Support was a young French rockabillyish band called The Howling Jaws who were very good. I think they would have been better in a more intimate venue but very tight and nice appearance by a Danelectro baritone.
For a 70 year old chap that was a lively performance and Los Straitjackets - there is something very pure about their approach ( despite their shtick).

  • Morning,

Caught Nick and the straightjackets at Exeter Phoenix last night. I've been aware of his stuff since late 70's and wasn't disappointed-great rapport no sense of going through the motions and he left a few favourites out but still did the do....very lively. Los Straightjackets are marvellous. Not sure how they got together with Nick but it's a great match and an excellent evening.
    Over and out.
God bless this kitchen said the knick knack chef

Exactly what he said ... I was there too and it was a great evenings entertainment... just what a great gig should ... all emotions covered...and the solo  acoustic version of Alison at the end topped it off nicely ... you won't be disappointed.
