Finishing question - Firebird style sunburst

Would it be possible to spray a Firebird style sunburst finish on an alder body? I guess it would just mean a darker finish in the centre with no red corona, and just black on the edge. Do the painters on here think could be easily done?

Sure, could stain the body & burst the black or use tinted lacquer for brown. There's a knack for spraying even translucent tints but yes basically do-able.

No worries, there's alder Strats in similar sort of a scheme, probs others too but the Strat springs to mine cos I had one.

I’d assume you would spray a mid brown first and lay on black around the perimeter after that.
