I prefer keeping the boxes and putting junk in them .. saves me a trip to the tip ... ;-)

Some Semtex would have been better than glitter ... he's probably given the nutters at ISIS some ideas.

Is it just me that these things come across as fake to?

Why wouldn't they take the four phones attached to the box?

^ Because the phones are inside the plastic casing, and the timed stink spray makes them toss the parcel before they get that far.

But it stinks more of viral marketing to me

This. It's not what it seems IMHO. For one thing the guy could get sued if the stunt backfired.

If I had built the mars lander or even a bit of it, I’d be smug too.

    His channel is pretty good.

An incendiary device would have been more effective. Nothing says "don't steal stuff" quite like having your house or car burn down in the run-up to Christmas.

That would leave him open to being sued - especially in 'murica.  In the very worst case, someone might actually get hurt.  Also, wouldn't be able to reuse it.

Green food colouring would be good.  That probably would leave indelible stains, but not risk hurting anyone.

On a related note, I don't remember parcels just being left outside our front door in the past, but it seems fairly common now - seems nuts to me and I'm surprised the courier companies aren't getting crucified in the media over it.

Had a case of wine just left outside the other week in clear view from the road - I was amazed it was still there when I got home.

I once had a Les Paul delivered by courier and left leaning against our front door. All day. In a massive box with “Gibson” plastered all over it. How it wasn’t nicked I have no idea. Presumably all the local tealeaves thought it had a Firebird X inside.
