I need a new wah,  kinda worn mine out.

Looking for:
Switchless
Great treble
Something that gives me a hard on when I play it
Sounds like Steve Vai,  Satch

Any recommendations?

Switchless... Steve Vai...       Just get a bad horsie then.    I prefer the Tremonti switchless but the BH is a great pedal.

  • I used to have a bad horsie but it didn't have enough sweep really. Not tried a bh2 though or a tremonti

    Weeping demon
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

I like the Weeping Demon too but this is worth a look: http://www.glab.com.pl/index.php/en/products/effects/wowee-wah-ww-1
Not a huge sweep on the pedal so you need to be subtle. Good sounding pedal though.

  • The wowee looks a bit glash with its midi loop and leds.  Looking for a nice big sweep range though

Weeping Demon gets my vote. I've had a few Morley's over the years and I much prefer the Weeping Demon. There's lots of adjustments that you can make to the sound of the way. You can get most sounds out of it, although it does lean  more to the modern sound like the Morley only nicer sounding imo. I love the bear trap look too!

  • Wasn't the WD discontinued years ago, or am I thinking of something else? I remember them being as big as a car but I think there was a smaller version as well.

@fastonebaz I have a Sonnus Wahoo, which is switchless and deeply versatile and also a Clyde standard going begging....

It’s a shame more manufacturers don’t make a switchless wah.   I have the tremonti for higher gain playing and the 95q for more traditional playing but it’s a shame there isn’t more choice as there as several conventional wahs that sound great.

If the OP really wants switchless then I’m you’re kind of stuck with the Morley’s, Dunlop 95q and finding a used Weeping demon or WD jr.         if it’s for higher gain playing as the post implies then any of the Morley’s are great but the tremonti sings imo but they aren’t as good as a crybaby for traditional wakka wakka.

True but the basic version doesn't have the Led's or midi.

Check out the Gig-fx mega wah, should do everything you want. I’ve got the Peter Frampton signature version and it’s lovely.
