Les Paul ageing/relicing

Hi. I've had a search already, but I was looking for some pics of any attempts and hopefully successes that people have had with ageing and relicing les pauls. I'm trying to get a feel for what looks fake and what doesnt. I cant see me sitting for hours with a blade doing the checking - i will need to find a big freezer. Just wondering if anyone had any tips or words of advice really: what worked and what didnt?. Thanks. WIll

I've always liked a nicely aged guitar, subtle looks much better imo

Freezer checking is best to me but i know others use a razor, alot depends on the finish you've already got to get cold checking, im not a fan of cold air freezing 

To me ageing is the whole package, fading on the colours, lightly aged fretboard, some normal dings and headstock aged plus hardware and plastics etc, this is just my opinion

Hi, thanks for the replies. This is what I'm building, the idea being to try and get close to damon johnsons green one.

25% was hot-cold-hot-cold but the rest was hand done with a fine sharp blade. It helps that the colour of the top was already stunning to start with
