Hi

This may be a daft question!

Getting back into playing live again and thinking that I should buy a DI box as back up just in case a valve goes in my amp etc. However, I already own a Boss GP20 which has amp and cabinet simulations so I was wondering whether this would do the job? Anyone got any experience of using one or any thoughts please. Thank you.

Yes, just set the output switch to Line. You may still need a DI box if you need to connect it to a stagebox with only XLR sockets, but any plain one - even the cheapest passive type - will be fine. If you’re playing anywhere with a house PA they will have something like that anyway.
