it is obviously a bit of fun taken to the nth degree - But it does hi-light IMO that many great players and many great song writers are 2 totally separate events - Both indeed have their merits

Dangerous ground there. Many, many novelty / 1 hit wonders can be hummed by people all over the world and are highly recognizable tunes.

Popularity is somehow often seen as a sign of greatness, but I've always suspected it's a sign of blandness. 

Larry Calton and Allan holdsworth may not write catchy music, but I suspect they never set out to.

I did consider that - but presumably if no woman = no cry, then 1 woman = 1 cry, 2 women = 2 cries etc..?
