I could listen to Barrie talk and play guitar all day. Watched him at Night & Day with Little Barrie years ago and was like I need 330 after that gig, years later I got one but could funnily enough still never got mine to sound like his....

We had a lot of fun filming that. When you hear how many great and varied tones he gets out of a signal chain that consists of one cheap cable, an amplifier most of us would turn our noses up at and a lively room, it puts a lot of things into perspective. I love his playing – every time he picks up a guitar it sounds like something from a classic record.

Think the youtube link died when you edited it, which apparently is a thing.

  • Great player, I've seen him twice at Festival 6, once with his own band Little Barrie playing a Jazzmaster, and last year with TheThe. Don't recall seeing this 330, he had something similar in black.

Lovely organic tone, don’t know what I mean by that other than it’s so great to see a demo of sorts not drowned in RAWK distortion.......great player, interesting guy...who doesn’t love the Meters!

This is the clip.  I guess this is what Les Paul's were supposed to sound like.

Lovely stuff. But has triggered unfortunate desire for Bigsby-equipped semi. Oh well.

Very much a 'Marmite' amp - it's one of those that folk either love or hate, but I really enjoyed Barry's vids and playing and the sounds he was getting.  I've played a few Epi valve amps - the junior played through a 2x12 cab as he had, the Epi Junior combo,  and a 2x12 blues custom 15/30 combo. The Junior through the 2x12 was good fun and not dis-similar to a Vox AC4 head and 1x12 cab that I had on loan for a while - but the combo with its little speaker was just too raspy with no bottom end. I really liked the 2x12  blues custom 15/30 though which was a way better amp.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Yes, I think his band Little Barrie did some of the soundtrack.
