That sounds bloody amazing (Strymon demo post-production allowing). Don't think I'll be buying though as too much money and I really need something that I can save a load of presets on + I currently have a DD500, which I think is pretty damn good. In fact I listened to the demo last night after band rehearsal and was inspired to go and play with my DD500 in stereo set up for a few hours and came up with a bunch of nice new tape settings using the Space Echo, Echoplex and Echorec models and I could save them all to return to.
Agree. The DD500 is my favourite delay so far, sounds fantastic.  Even the presets are great.  I’ve played each and every one, and loved many of them. Still haven’t got my head around it fully though, so much tweakability.

  • Only effect in this region I’m interested in is the forthcoming Dreadbox Hypnosis. Now that looks ace.

Sounds absolutely amazing. The size may be a drawback though (along with the price - guessing £399)
We’ll it’s cheaper than the Timeline in the US.  The Timeline is around £375 in the UK, so it could be £350 ish?

  • what's the particular advantage of this over the Timeline or Brigadier? A bit disappointing they haven't released something a bit different from their previous offerings

It will be cheaper if you can wait for 6 months.

You should be able to wipe it off the screen before it dries!

I was very sceptical about yet another tape delay model, but that sounds lush. Amazing level of control and huge potential, but I suspect I’d spend too much time fiddling about with it.

And musicians. I know, it's tricky to spot the difference when you're neither ;)

I have a DD500 (and a Nemesis, and Timeline) and it cannot do the same sort of oscillation tones that the Volante seems to be able to do. When you crank the feedback on the tape models on the DD500 and let it oscillate, you get nasty digital clipping at the output. It's a real shame. Because I love the pedal other than that.

    Bye!

Except I'm thinking the £ will dive in a little while?.... I dunno.
    This does sound good.
I've got a Catalinbread Echorec which is good enough for live but is kind of a one-trick pony.
This though is the size of a couple of ponies.
Can't really justify it for live but I can see me getting one for playing with at home.

  • Looks great, but I’ve just got a Timeline again, more than happy with it and everything it can do, and I’m on very tight budgets at the moment.

I think it looks and sound delicious - I’d love to kick around with this for an afternoon - it has knobs and everything.
