Teles with Bigsbys are frickin' fantastic.

But on a Strat it just looks super-duper mega wrong...

That’s good news. Bigsby has certain problematic models (B5/B50 etc).  Fender have a history of fixing problems when they buy a company.

    Love a good Bigsby!

  • Bigsby = clunky pile of junk.

    hate 'em.
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

They might be clunky piles of junk but they're the only vibratos I can get on with for a nice gentle warbling sound.

A Tele with a B5 is a fine thing indeed, and considering Fender also runs the whole Gretsch operation it makes a lot of sense.

    Interesting.
When He left Gibson, Ted McCarty bought Bigsby for himself and now it's owned by Fender. Strange how the industry goes around. If Henry hadn't wasted cash on spurious aquisitions this would have been a prime target to own.
I wonder if Gibsons will still be sold with factory fitted Bigsby made features in the comming years.

They don't own Gretsch, they do have rights to make and sell, but the company is still in the family. Gretsh owned Bigsby, wonder why they sold it off, they seem to be doing ok.

Perhaps doing the opposite of Henry and concentrating on thier profitable core business.

Maybe, but they could flog Bigsbys to anyone inc Gibson without bias, I wonder if Fender will carry on or if Gibson will not want to source from a Fender company. Either way if they improve the US castings it won't be a bad thing.
