To mend the ding or leave it?

What's Hot
My lovely Tom Anderson Cobra T got dinged last night, not by me which made it hurt more. It’s on the bottom back edge so not visible when being played but it’s right back to the wood. My first instinct is to try to get someone to do a cover up using the super glue method but part of me feels I should just live with it. If it was a Relic Strat I wouldn’t give a toss but this guitar is such a precious thing to me I’m torn. What would you do?

I used to try to fix dings (usually used nail varnish) but these days it doesn't bother me too much. In my opinion, it shows history and character. Also, if I am worrying too much about chiping the paint, I am not enjoying playing it. I understand why others may think diffrently.
Remember, the first ding is always the worst. Just enjoy using it.
No other guitar will ever have that same dent. It makes your guitar different from hundreds like it. Until you release a signature model...

We need pics! I'm in agreement though I like things to looking pristine so I'd be inclined to get someone to see if they could sort it.

Sell it and buy a Fender Relic.

  •  A shiity repair looks shitty.  A ding can look characterful!

A guitar is just s tool and a ding in that location doesn't impair it's function, just play it:)

The day you get it back from the ding-repairman you will doubtless drop it down the stairs by accident, so rather learn to love the ding.

I’d add some more, just so it doesn’t get too lonely...... one ding looks like an accident.... multiple dings look cool :)

I try to take care of my guitars and I'm always gutted by the first ding, but over time it'll just be the first of many.

  • It was my mate the bass player trying to help me change a string at half time. Wouldn’t prejudice our friendship by making a fuss, I think he was gutted but embarrassed to say too much. I need to get over it and just enjoy playing as my Fretboard friends generally advise. My lads TA is totally wrecked but he still loves the thing.....

Pics please.  If the wood is dented you can probably steam most/all of it out.

Cracked finish though I'd seal with superglue (after) and leave it.Or leave it anyway and do nothing.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......
