Got 10K to Invest, so what are the options?

Firstly can I say that it is not my money, so vintage guitars are out of the question 

If you had 10K where would you put it?

Interest rates are so poor at the moment, so what are the other options?

Premium bonds for a no lose (but potentially no win) scenario?

Stocks and shares? You would need to know a good investment and then again this also has an element of risk..

Thoughts??...

When do you want the money back? 

Theres lots of talk of recession which would make stocks & funds risky if you want a return inside 2 years, but could be good if you can drop-feed more into the pot over 5+ years

I was at a briefing yesterday and the economists said the EU will have a technical recession but the UK will grow if Brexit happens.

Shares are still worth it as you get dividends and if UK companies become cheap foreign investors will pounce giving you a good payday.

I'd put it in cash savings and wait for the stock market to crash, then put it half and half into FTSE100/250 trackers.

A lot of people suggest a low-cost index-linked tracker fund for long term investments.  You can google and explore.
