  • Great recommendations. While I’m familiar with a lot of the mentions, this has opened some doors to a lot of music I’ve not come across yet ! :)

Neurosis offshoot. Bleak and downbeat folky affair

  • Tangerine Dream's Zeit album is minimal. Nothing happens for 80 minutes!

  • What do you mean by minimal?
I suppose in terms of arrangements/production. e.g. The Cure or MBV sounds "big". So stuff that wouldn't have the kitchen sink thrown at it in the studio... :)
Some early Low would have just guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and that's it.

You should check out Slowdive's Pygmalion album and the last 2 Talk Talk albums.

Some bonnie prince Billy / palace brothers related stuff is fairly minimal and lofi.

    This is probably my favourite:

The album Arise, Therefore is very minimal / lofi and I find most of it a bit too much hard work

Also Guided by Voices albums Bee Thousand and Alien Lanes are classic lofi releases, but only really minimal in the sense of production and technical ability! I love both of them
