Estimate is only $100-150k. Has to be one of the most iconic guitars ever. Surely 3-4x this is more realistic.

But it’s not a Fender, right? The neck was made by Charvel iirc, and it has a Fender decal, so it’s technically a fake and cannot be sold legally in the uk.

So so I’ll give him £10 for it, and say no more about it.

    Charvel? Not really
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

I'd rather take the £1450 Baja Tele, at least Fender means Fender on that one.
If we are not ashamed to think it, we should not be ashamed to say it.

But if Fender own Charvel, then technically is it still a fake?
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

As this is a fake he cant sell it on the fretboard.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

I have the book about the guitar - it says the Charvel neck was replaced by a Fender '57 maple neck in the 1990s which was replaced by another '57 C-shaped neck from one of Gilmour's other Fender Stats around 2005.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Any trades? Have a BC Rich something or other and a “really super nice” lime green Ibanez with a Wizard neck that I think would make a great swap. Signed, every eBay user ever.

I like that the b/w picture of Gilmour playing it shows a neck with a rosewood fingerboard. . .

    It’s worse than Trigger’s broom.

So it’s actually not the same guitar that was used for any notable Pink Floyd album in that case.

Just goes to show that the myth of the perfect guitar is bull. It’s just a combination of parts that are interchangeable as and when.

Well yes and no. He did have a large section cut out for a floyd rose and then filled back in. The story of the purchase is his tele was lost on a flight, so he went and bought a guitar from the nearest shop. Hardly a story of an endless search for “the” guitar.

It’s an easy mistake to make, since Rosé Floyd was the original name for the band.
