Apologies for lowering the tone of an excellent thread but when i saw the title Wife pleasing pedalboard my first thought was "what the heck has he got hooked up on his board?!"
I’m guessing a Zvex Super Hard On and a Marshall Vibratrem for starters.
Beat me to it.laughgif  Of course, there's also (& these are REAL pedals....I didn't rename them for a laugh!):

Haven't you guys heard of Alder And Ash Pedalboards???
I'm expecting my new board next week. Beautiful dove tailed joints and lovely figured ash.
UK based too. Richard Norton is his name.

  • They look great and I don’t mean to be negative at all, if you want  one go for it, but I can’t help thinking that it wouldn’t be too hard, if you have the tools already and basic woodwork skills, to make something similar yourself. Admittedly it might not look so good and professional. I’ve made one out of a mini pallet, just glued on timber on the sides. Actually, I made a guitar stand GCSE woodwoork/cdt, one of these would have been an awesome project.

I did a carpentry apprenticeship after school, before going to uni and absolutely love working with wood (que the innuendoes). However given the economies of scale on materials needed and the cost of any missing tools, I reckoned it would cost a good chunk of the £129 for the Ruach board to make one as nice. Then there’s the time and effort. Also, this is more of an alternative to a Pedaltrain that just looks much nicer in the house. Not something I need to be overly precious about when I take it out and about.

In the future when I have more time, I will make a bespoke one for sure.

Yes good points, it’s the time that is in short supply and the cost of tools soon mounts up. Mine looks very rough and ready compared to these but does the job for now. But I did stain the timber to match the floorboards, to try and keep the mrs onside!

Here it is finished. Added intergrated input and output jacks using a couple of telecaster jacks to tidy up the board. Might potentially add a power input in the future, but for now just running the power straight to the PSU under the board. Everything is being powered from its own individual isolated output, so ver little noise. Really pleased with the outcome.

The solderless cables I used were really great and an absolute bargain compared to others I’ve seen. They were all metal construction including to cap and the cable was thin and really good quality. Here’s a link

Nice job - I love how neatly the top-of-the-board connections are done.

Ooh nice. I love tidy boards like this with just a handful of high end pedals on
