Direct mounting tele bridge pickup

If I wanted to mod my tele to direct mount the bridge pickup instead of suspending it from the bridge, what's the best way to go about this?

Some foam underneath and just screw it in place?

    Yes. But be aware that it kills the 'proper' Tele sound.
