How original is Since ive been loving you?

My favourite track of all time is Since I’ve been loving you by Led Zeppelin but today I discovered Death Valley blues by Black Cat Bones, both released in the same year 1970 and so similar that even Ed Sheeran wouldnt touch it!
I know Led Zep have a history of “borrowing” riffs but this one is like a mirror image (to my ear)!

Some of the lyrics also taken from the song Never by Moby Grape apparently.

So, probably not very original - not exactly unusual for the Zeppers.

No more a blantant rip-off than Death Valley Blues is rip-off of any other minor key 12 bar blues that proceeded it - 'The Thrill is Gone', Joplin's version of 'Ball and Chain' spring to mind. Certainly not in the league of Dazed and Confused. Also 'Death Valley Blues' is a straight 12 bar, whilst 'Since I've Been Loving You' has a few extra chords on the turnaround.
