Wouldn't it make more sense to use angled cables in/out of a pedalboard?

I look down and see those straight jacks heading left and right from a board - just begging to be stepped on - does anyone use angled jacks instead?
Red ones are better.

I’ve always used angled. Much neater :)

    Both. Depending on socket positions.

I do make my own and swap pedals about all the time playing at home.

Yep, always have. Once is enough for having the singer wreck pedal jacks.

Yes, angled at both ends if possible. I have a few with one of each for places a right-angle plug doesn't fit properly, but probably too many really.

Yes angled in and out of my board. Only takes a clumsy drummer squeezing out from behind his kit and over my board to step on a straight jack sticking out.

The only straight jack I own is the one going into my Strat.

Whichever you use, consider using a pedalboard patchbox for incoming / outgoing cables, which saves wear and tear and damage to actual pedals. Bright Onion and others do them and cheap too, relative to the pedals we use...

    I think, therefore.... I... ummmm........

Yes, and you can also bolt - not velcro - it to the board, so that even if it gets a really hard pull on the cable it won't come loose, so it will protect the pedals. With a modern Pedaltrain type board it should fit underneath out of the way too.

The flaw I can see with that is that the jacks are too close together and not far enough above the floor to use right-angle plugs, so we're back where we came in...

They fit all angled to one side fine

actually I take that back - if the floor is hard rather than carpet, it means forcing them in hard against each other - less than ideal

You're better to angle them upwards instead. I should have thought of that in the first place :).
