Best way to sell luthier classical?

A friend of mine is considered changing his classical but would need to sell his first. Has anyone had any experience selling higher end Luther build classical guitars and could suggest either an adequate consignment shop or forum that he could advertise it on?

Edit: He suspects it is BRW but don't have any written confirmation. I've e-mailed Tony Johnson for more information. Any advice regarding CITES for a sale in the UK would be appreciated.

Do you know who made the guitar?  I've sold a few classical/nylon string guitars before privately and could probably recommend some kind of course of action.

Thanks @earwighoney, it's a Tony Johnson. Not sure full specs but should know more next week.

I played a spruce/cypress flamenco guitar of his Ivor Mairant's a while back, it was superb.

Tony Johnson is a luthier of repute, and a BRW model should make it easier to sell in the UK at least, as BRW guitars are seen to be desirable.

For forums, the Delcamp forum is the most popular classical guitar forum but it requires a minimum number of posts for user's to be able to post a for sale thread.

In the UK there are a number of fairly decent shops that specialise in selling classical guitar but I think Kent Guitar Classics would probably be the best place for such a guitar.

I would definitely get on the Delcamp site. I sold a classical to a guy in the States on this site, world wide exposure. As @earwighoney points out, Kent Guitar Classics is another choice as is Stafford Guitars but better to sell privately rather than on commission basis.Reverb and the marketplace on Facebook are alternative options. Good luck.

Why's the reference to Brazilian rosewood been edited out of the OP? I just came back into this thread to advise on that...

Still don't have confirmation on exactly what wood it is from the builder and certification if it's the case, though I've sent an email to clarify.

Edit: @DLM - have edited it back in with clarification.

No affiliation to me, but there's an in-depth write-up here: http://www.rio-palisander.de/index-english.htm

The German customs authorities seem to be leading the charge, flinging megabucks PRS into incinerators and chippers.

No, you can't keep the guitar and just have the offending fingerboard destroyed, the whole thing's gotta go.

Then there's Brexit This being an EU law thing. Bring back facepalms. :vomit:
