SOLD: PRS McCarty 10 top, moons, Bare Knuckle Mules, PRS case, £1250 firm.

Sold. 
2001 PRS McCarty 10-top in Grey-Black with moon inlays, wide-fat neck profile and the original fitted PRS hard case. Has Bare Knuckle Mule pickups, fitted by Mansons in Exeter and coil-tapped. Weight is 7lb 11oz.

Very good condition but has a few small marks and a little buckle worming, so it’s not a case queen. No noticeable fretwear on the lower frets at the nut end, and there’s just a very slight ‘flattening’ of the frets around the 10th to 15th frets (where the bending goes on!) but it still plays great and won’t need attention for a good while yet in my opinion. It also sounds so much better with the BKP pickups - I don’t have the original pickups any more. £1250 firm.

Collect from Salisbury in Wiltshire or I do have a guitar carton and could ship it within that price in the UK, using the cheapest uninsured UPS service. If you wanted to arrange your own insured courier you’d be welcome to do that at your own cost and have the guitar picked up from me. Thanks for looking.

I proper love this guitar but I have just run out of things to sell - if I thought I could live without a Strat, I'd consider selling my Melancon, but I think I need at least one guitar with some single coils...

New pics added of the neck and frets as I’ve had a couple of questions asking about fretwear and whether there’s any lacquer flaking at the sides of the neck, as can happen with older PRSs.

There’s no lacquer flaking at all, as hopefully you can see from the pics. There’s also no noticeable fretwear down at the nut end. There is a very slight ‘flattening’ of the tops of the frets around the 10th to 15th frets, due to that being the main string bending area, but it’s minor and won’t need attention for a good while in my opinion. PRS frets are very tough but if you’re expecting a guitar with totally unused frets, don’t buy this one!

I’ve also attached a pic of the most significant mark on the guitar which is a small lacquer scratch on the back of the neck. It’s in the centre of the final pic and it’s small and I can’t feel it when playing, but it’s there. Just trying to be fully transparent about this beauty!
