beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO Studio Headphones

I know these are at the cheap end for studio headphones but that’s the way things crumble. Currently £98 on amazon, any viable alternatives out there - let's say up to £150 - before I click the Buy button? 
For my son who does have access to some pro gear at college but has to do further mixing at home for projects,etc.

The Focals are flat and clear, I alternate these, Beyer 1990 Pro and DT250 depending on what I'm working on but I think he'd love them!
