I always leave my guitars, when not on the wall, on the bed when going away. On coming home from a nice break in Wales the cat has shat all over my Jazzmaster, 2 Strats, LP and Telecaster, needless to say I am NOT amused, time to put the cat down in the canal I think

I don't think I understand why you'd put guitars all not in cases where the cat could get to them. 

But more importantly you should see if there's anything medically wrong with the cat. They don't usually just shit everywhere if they have any better option.

It’s a ball ache putting everything back in cases as they always live hanging on the wall in my music room. I think the cat has dementia tbh, time for an injection in the paw

I think they do dirty protests when you leave them. We occasionally leave our moggy overnight with a clean litter tray plenty of food etc. It invariably shits elsewhere though - this never happens when we are there.

How long was the trip? and what was the plan for looking after the cat?

I've not known a healthy cat shit everywhere when looked after, so maybe your cat is poorly

She's old and seemingly starting with Dementia, we always have someone call in twice a day to feed and check on the little Shit Bag and this has previously worked a charm
