Interesting pedal.  I always considered Gain, Drive, Saturation and Volume to be kinda the same thing really.

With no tone control or eq isn't it tricky to get it 'dialed in' with different amps? Or is it designed as an appendage to LJ amps?

I have found it is very dialable-in. The boost is very transparent in the true sense of the term as there is no tone stack. So you can add some level without altering anything, or add some gain which becomes almost fuzz-like.
The overdrive side is where drive and saturation come in - and just allows more grind but with varying degrees of compression.

Ain’t it always the way. Musing over a Bogner Harlow boost if perchance you had one to trade. Still not decided on that..
