The weight of the guitar is a little over 7,5 lbs, and the frets are in very good shape (I'd say 90-95%) with no significant wear apparent.

Is the matte finish because of playing, or because it's been sanded/reliced? I presume the hardware has been reliced in some way as the wear seems much greater there?

The hardware has been lightly reliced with muriatic acid, and the urethane body finish taken down with 0000 steel wool; I've done this with a number of guitars, and have to say that the results are good.  The guitar feels much better to handle, generally smoother and less sticky, and without the OTT (to my taste) aesthetic destruction favoured by either the Fender Custom Shop or Nash Guitars etc.  As I say, I'd describe this as a Closet Classic approach.  Reliced finishes are polarising, but what we have here is very much at the restrained end of things.

    Thank you!  I obviously agree...

Don't want to sound like I'm whining, but this is very much more than your standard Standard...£250+ worth of upgrades, and a generally mellow vibe set this one apart.  Is this my 'should I beg' bump?

I think it's very good value. If it had a rosewood board like the one in your profile pic I would be arranging to meet you at a hostelry in London Town and buying you a pint before relieving you of it...

An entire picture of the back of the guitar might help, as it's not clear how much relicing has been done there. It looks like it's been sanded on the upper bout, but that may just be a trick of the light.

And I would have bought you a pint back...I noticed you were after a RW board, so hadn't pestered you about this sale.  I know how it is when you have something specific in mind, and Olympic White with rosewood really looks the thing.  Although I obviously also favour the white/maple neck look too...my profile pic is of a particularly nice American Professional model I once had.  Incredibly dark rosewood, just like a really old Tele...
