The first couple of Call of Duties set in WW11 were very good, as was the one with the sniper mission in Pirpyat, after that they got very same,

Ive just given up with Red Dead as it was too big. Been playing for months and seem to be stuck at 55%. I like big and open world but there needs to be a balance.

Duke Nukem 3D multiplayer with my mates over dial up modem, just before MSN messenger and the internet in general took off....that's my most memorable gaming experience. You needed a degree in computer programming just to set everything up in MSDOS, but that made the experience more exciting, because of the effort it took to set everything up, and the fact that online multiplayer wasn't really popular back then, so to a 14 year old it was like being a part of some exclusive club. Half Life multiplayer was great as well.

Current? None, but the 2.0 version of Elite Dangerous from a couple of years back was basically as perfect a rendition of how that game could be as far as I'm concerned. Then they ruined it with Engineers (or, more specifically, the special effects for weapons), and every poor attempt at balancing they've done since then has been to counteract the problems caused by the previous balancing pass, all tracking back to those goddamned special weapon effects.
I'm gutted that I'll never be able to play that game again because it was fun, which is something severely lacking these days.
Loved all of the Sierra and Lucasarts games. Still playing Wolfenstein 3D or Spear of destiny ... "Achtung!

Also had a Wii, WiiU and various handhelds over the years but I'm struggling to think of a single game on any of them that saw me lose anything like as many hours as any of the above did.
