Back in the day, Paradroid on C64 was the shit.  Haven't gamed on PC for a very long time, but System Shock 2 was amazing.  Enjoyed Half Life, the first few Thief games and the original Fallout as well.

Console-wise, these would be favorites over the last, ooh, 20 years or so...

Of all those, The Last Of Us is in a class of its own.

Mostly playing Elite Dangerous at the moment. It’s a superb update to the original Electron / BBC Model B version.

True, but I originally played them on GC and switch respectively so that's the platform I associate them with. I wasn't trying to say there were no good games on the Wii U just that that I didn't play anything that really stands out now. It's probably more of a reflection of how little time I had for gaming at the time rather than the quality of the games available.

That's fair enough. I enjoyed Mario 3D world a lot on Wii U, but I agree there wasn't much else to note

Karate international on the Commodore 64 was great as was Barbarian, lopping people's heads off as a kid? Yes please!

There was one game I loathed though and that was Drelbs on the C64, my dad would go to our room and play it for hours leaving us to sleep in a room shrouded in cigarette smoke, he would come down with red raw eyes irritable and violent from playing that game, I dreaded him playing it!
