I went through a period of upgrading in my late teens and early twenties (Satellite, Japanese Les Paul copy, Squier Strat) but I don't flip them often these days. I've had my Strat and Tele for about 10 years, I sold a Dot last year which I bought in about 2002 and my "nice" acoustic I've owned for 12-13 years despite wanting a change (which I can't afford to do). In fact at this point in my life I'm thinking any other guitars I buy are in for the long haul - and that means saving up for a while and finding the right one.

I have owned 5, and still have 3.

Squier Strat - my first guitar, now retired to the loft
Gibson LP Custom - sold to Slate of this shire
CS 1960 Strat - still own it, my main squeeze
    Gibson R8 - sold
Taylor Baby Mahogany - still own it, set up for slide

I feel inadequate judging by most of the posts on here.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

I've owned about 30... ummm, I think. It's hard to remember: the great ones and the really shitty ones stick in my mind far more than the rest.

I've thinned the herd a fair bit recently and am down to 4 electrics and two acoustics now. There's a couple more I'd love to own but they'd be very expensive and I couldn't really justify it.  Never say never, but I think my buying days are finished tbh.
