    Gah, can't see what happened to my Tele body @fusionista! Hope it was alright and made a nice guitar though :D

    I loved the colour of Surfer Girl, but the finish wasn't my best - there were a couple of spots that seemed to actively resist it, and the gloss coat wasn't so good.  It was a test body to relearn how to do it before doing a GSPBASSES guitar, which turned out really nicely.

    Wow! You beat what I would have done, that's for sure!

    I'm thinking of doing a Tele build (properly) - pine or swamp ash body, Wudtone (either Black Magic Woman, which I already have, or maybe a dark 2 tone burst) and will definitely consider a custom cooletch plate.  

    I'd want a shinier, cleaner one - one more like what you have on the Nitro body, for if I go for the black magic woman.

    And I'm looking at guitarbuild Tele bodies.

    I've got to decide how and find the time to finish the latest one. The body needs more sanding and the cross grain on the shoulders is proving troublesome.  Emailed @andypwudtone for his advice suggestions.

    Actually, I'm saving for an MJW Orion.  Once I've got that, I'll probably never need another amp in my life (famous last words, but I really won't need anything else!).

    I have 2 :)  So you are almost right.

    The KT-66 Orion 1 is shown in the pic - it covers JTM45 through JTM100 and JMP50 territory.  My Orion 2 is in white and features EL34's.   It has a richer/raunchier tone, takes you from Plexi100 through to JCM800.

    I'm planning on having a 50 watt ish one, channel one being either fender Twin voice (ish) or tweed/JTM voice, and channel two being either a hot rodded Marshall a la Bogner/Friedman or a 6505 style lead channel.  

    Add on a half power switch and effects loop (both are standard) and 6l6 power section (he also does KT88... I know nothing of power sections though) and I'll have an amp for funk, rock, pedal platform and metal.  Boom!

    I tend to find the Tweed/JTM style amps I've played are better at taking OD pedals than the brighter Silverface and Blackface stuff, so it'll probably be that on channel one.  Channel two, no idea - will see how I feel, I love both :p whichever I get, there are excellent pedals that can emulate the other which I can use if I want it.  If that makes sense.  

    I want a purple or red amp :)

    Bearing in mind it'll be about half a year before I can afford one, Martin gave me plenty of info and was very welcoming, so I have my heart set on that. I will possibly buy another Peavey transtube for a home stereo set up until then as they're stupid cheap.

    OK so now back to the knitting. 

    Have to make a decision as to what colour(s) to finish this guitar in. Of course I'm going to use Wudtone, and it will be a high-gloss finish, but what ?  One could go straight honey front/mahogany back; or stay pale/natural; brighten with goldenrodfront/carmine back; burst pack - saffron/burning sun or azure lagoon/dark onyx.  More lurid, wondering if I bought carmine gypsy the natural differences in the woods would give me a pink and red guitar...

    Opinion from @jookychap highly valued ?

    Just  a heads up that I've been working with @sinbaadi on the above project.  Simon has done 'what it says on the tin' and the result looks pretty amazing (and hard-wearing!).  Going to start a new thread 'Thinline project' to discuss aspects of the build, so if you are interested, you know where to look
