I mean really... he's one of the very, very best rock guitarists in the world, he's a great singer, writes great songs and guitar parts, found out last night that he's a great pianist as well, and he's presumably making a boatload of money touring with Rihanna and Extreme, and he still looks like a film star at 47, after 25 years of touring. Didn't see any of that on Monday night - just like the other guys, he was very gracious and welcoming at the meet & greet afterwards, despite the fact that they'd played over two hours and it was almost 1am by the time I met them.

ISTR us discussing this before. You'd met him once already, right? And not thought he was "a dick". It is entirely possible that he's mellowed with age if he ever was "difficult".

That's not how he does it, but he's not picking every note, either.

As far as I could see, he was muting with his right hand but only hammering on with the left, even descending. That's why it sounds so percussive and like picking.

I do know he used to pick it all, though.

Way jealous - saw they were doing this tour, then promptly forgot about it until I saw this thread One of my favourite players of all time.

I'm sure the he-man riff was picked on the album - I used to have the tab book and learnt it that way.
