DIY Chorus pedals -- any experiences?

What's Hot
So I'm making a John Hollis Zombie atm... I've just seen the Little Angel ... and I'm populating a Mad Beans Pork Barrel pedal as well. I previously made a tone-pad but I didn't get it working... the Mad-bean is in part to sanity test the mn3007 chips used in the tonepad...

Anyone got any experience of the John Hollis or Little Angel?

A sig-nat-eur? What am I meant to use this for ffs?! Is this thing recording?

The best two IMO are the Pork Barrel and the Baja Small Clone clone. The Little Angel is damn impressive considering how few parts are in it, and I've not made a Zombie to be fair.

Oh and check out Bajaman's advice on finishing enclosures:

I use Duplicolor white spray can lacquer paint - 3 thin coats, but for production models I get them white powdercoated, because it is a far more durable finish.
For the label - I print it on my printer using coated photo type inkjet paper (epson), then I laminate it with a cheap home A4 hot laminator.
Then I trim the label and attach it to the case with Nitto double sided adhesive tape. ( you could use a suitable tube glue if unable to find the Nitto)
A craft knife and round file are used for the switch, led, and potentiometer mounting holes.

    Awesome.

Adhesive decal paper and Envirotex actually sounds easier than that! ;)

  • The Zombie Chorus is very nice, especially of you add the vibrato mod. I built one for someone and will definitely do one for myself now. Four very distinct modes to play with.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....
