My signature on the headstock - how?

Ive built a few parts casters and Id like to put a handwritten "signature" on each of them, however I would like them all the same a la Fender Gibson etc, but handwritten rather than a word doc font, any ideas how? Ive used waterside decals for word fonts, but Id rather have something more unique and personal…..no idea how! Share your thoughts…...

Ive tried waterside on a black headstock and the ink (inkjet) is translucent, the black showed through and couldn't be seen - did you use white paper, I used clear background….how did you get your image onto the computer to print it, scan?

Perhaps Paul means how to get his Signature into a file he can then send off?

If so, one of the easiest ways is to write your signature onto a blank piece of paper, take a photo with your phone, email it to yourself, clean the photo up in Photoshop (other photo manipulation tools are available).

Then, voila, you have your file you can send to have turned into a decal, which will be the same every time.

If that isn't what you meant, feel free to ignore me.

All the answers are correct. Im just trying to get my head round it…….Ive done some waterside but they don't seem to work on black. Ill give a photo image a go….

Another easy possibility is to make the file as described, and then have a thin vinyl cut design cut.  That way you can have different colours cut.  You can also get those in pearlescent finishes.  You can varnish over them if needs be, but you'd need a few passes to get it level with the logo.

Waterslides with gold or silver print work great on black headstocks. get them printed by this guy

@paulnb57 I did as Rox suggested. I drew my monogram, took a photo with my DSLR, cleaned up the edges in Photoshop then printed it on white waterslide paper.

The other option is to print a black outline onto normal decal paper. Print it in reverse then paint the colour you want in between the outline. obviously you then need to apply it upside down too but once its lacquered over that makes little difference
