Very good. Though I don't quite understand why No 10 regenerated?

    #10?

You mean #9? ("Getting a bit thin ...")

  • I was on the set of DR Who and the green death, back in early 70`s, quite scary as a kid.

Met Jon Pertwee just as he got off his car Bess. he even posed for a snap on our old polaroid camera. will have to see if mam still has it somewhere.

Never watched it after Tom Baker left.

#9 regenerated just because he was getting too old. Given that a) when he became #9, he was young, and b) the last three regenerations evidently managed several hundred years between them without visibly aging, that gives an interesting perspective on the duration of the Time War; how long does it take for a Time Lord's body to age that much?

Or not, of course, given the whole timey-wimey thing.

Dodgy plot bit: the Kate Zygon having the activation code sent to her phone so Clara could use it to rescue the Doctors. Considering the door wasn't locked and they used the stasis cube to escape, wholly unnecessary.

@Lixarto you might want to remove the last sentence for those who have not yet watched it.

  • Did anybody notice the swastika on the kid's belt at 1:02:30 (on iPlayer)? I can't imagine that it was accidental, but I also can't think for the life of me why it would be included.

Well, that was fantastic. I'm glad they managed to reign Tennant in a little bit.

I wonder does it hark back to S6 and Let's Kill Hitler.

Apart from "Allons-y" they did an excellent job :)

Much more grown-up - loved it all.  Shame John Hurt couldn't stay longer.  Loved the Billie Piper hot arse gag ;)
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

    William Hartnell

John Hurt is between the 8th and 9th somehow.

  • So in theory then, william hartnoll was the first "doctor" long before the last day of the time war?

He was the first Doctor long before the first day of that particular Time War. As I recall, there were at least two Time Wars involving the Time Lords.

John Hurt's Doctor, however, came into being in the middle of the Time War:

Note that he regenerates into a young John Hurt, so a fair amount of time (in his timeline) must've elapsed between then and the 50th anniversary episode.

I wonder if they were hoping to get Ecclestone to appear with that regeneration. Miserable git.
