Recording on iPad

Hi all,

Late last year just before my son was born my extremely old power mac gave up on me.

The band kinda went on hold for a bit but were back in writing mode at long last and I need something to jot down riffs and song ideas etc.

I have an iPad which I'm looking to utilise. Already installed GarageBand and that seems to have enough stuff on there for what I need.

Just looking for something to get a guitar signal into the iPad really.

The line 6 sonicport seems quite good and I've always got on well with their software previously.

Anyone out there used one or have any other recommendations?

Budget sub £75 - 2nd hand preferable.

My son has the Sonicport on his iPad, using Garageband. Works very well, I'd have no hesitation buying one for myself.

Use a SonicPort for guitar and bass (both passive and active) and it works perfectly.

I bought a fake iRig from china for about £4 including shipping. Works perfectly for getting ideas/demos down. If I was looking to make higher quality recordings I'd probably look to ones that use a proper dock connector but for what I use it for it does the job.

I picked up an iRig HD on eBay for £40 delivered. Great unit. You get some free amp models for the amplitube app too.
